28.01.2018 - We have a new drummer!

It's with great pleasure that we can confirm that at long last...

Untamed have a new drummer!!

After a good few months of searching, a large number of auditions, trials and false dawns, we have finally found a drummer capable of playing in Untamed.

Charles Lamb has shown us he has the talent, the will to learn and enthusiasm to play both our originals and covers sets... and will bring a new dynamic to the band... and will ultimately take his place in writing the next album.

Charles is currently working hard to learn the sets ready for our gigs in March and April.

Those that know us well will appreciate the commitment this takes, and we can already see a new dynamic appearing that will push us forward in 2018.

We can't wait to see you all at our 2018 gigs... say hello and welcome Charles to the Untamed family.

You can view Charles's profile HERE.

Our first gig with Charles will be on Saturday, the 3rd of March, at the King Billy Rock Bar, Northampton.

Until then, rock on!!

03.07.2017 - Latest news

We thought we'd better do a bit of an update, just so that everyone knows what we're up to!

As we announced about a month ago, we are now actively looking to recruit a new Drummer. We have been talking to a lot of people, and we'd like to thank everyone for their interest. Hopefully, we are now at a point where we can start moving forward with auditions.

We do have gigs booked throughout the rest of 2017, but rather than advertise them (and then possibly have to cancel if not ready) we've decided to hold off on advertising until we're sure that we can commit – we hope you understand...

Other news, we are about to start a little project involving cameras... \m/\m/

Rock on!!!

20.05.2017 - Announcement

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Paul Skinner is leaving his role as Drummer with Untamed.

Paul has been with the band since the early days in 2001 and has played through thick and thin, good times and bad, and has provided that constant powerful, dynamic backing that allowed the band to thrive.

We are thankful to Paul for his commitment, dedication, enthusiasm, and professionalism over the last 16 years, and the three albums that we recorded with Paul are testament to his creative input.

Paul is moving on to a new phase of his life and we wish to thank Paul for all he has done for the band. We want to wish him every happiness and success in his new life and whatever musical ventures he undertakes.

Thanks for everything Paul,

Jon, Jay, Darren, and Simon

02.08.2016 - Untamed are about to hit the studio!!!

Yes, it's finally happening: after what seems like a lifetime, we are finally returning to the studio to record our 3rd album!

We really can't wait to show you all that we have been working on - we think (and hope!) that you are gonna love it!

Says Jon Sampson (vocals): "We have been working very hard on the new material, and to be honest, I really do believe that it is a major step-change for the band - nothing too drastic, but something a little bit more involved and thought out about than before.... We've spent quite a bit of time in pre-production, recording and looking at every aspect of what we are doing, to see if we can improve parts, and to make sure that we are as prepared as possible for the recording process. Also, I'm really looking forward to being able to put out a new album which is going to be a little different to our last two (without wishing to give too much away), that will still sound like Untamed, but be a bit more contemporary... And again, given that the line-up of the band has changed quite drastically from our last release, I can't wait to release an album that our three 'new' band members have a chance to shine on, and demonstrate their individual styles..."

We will be spending two weeks recording at Parlour Studios in Kettering, under the watchful eye of Neil Haynes - who specialises in Metal production, amongst other genres - and then, after a brief pause, we will spend another week on final mix-down (we plan to record a video diary of our progress, so that everyone can see how it is going).

All things going well, we would hope for an album release in the autumn, with an accompanying new range of merchandise – more details on pre-ordering etc., as we finalise them...

There will, of course, be a launch party ;-)

You can follow our daily(ish) progress on our Facebook page.

This does, of course, mean that we will not be out on the road for another month or so...

See you on the other side!
